Recently I listened to the Tone Vays debate with Dan and Ned and have to admit became somewhat perturbed. Tone was unable to argue any point coherently and clearly did not understand Steem or Steemit, which is fine. Most of us, myself included, are still coming to grips with this incredible platform. What perturbed me was his petulance and determination not to see the best in people, to recognise their hard work, to acknowledge his own failings and to lash out with anything that even remotely resembled some mud that might stick.
Fortunately, the whole interview spoke volumes about who was more trustworthy, technically proficient, qualified to define terms and worthy of taking up my precious time in listening to. Thank you Dan and Ned. You acquitted yourself very well.
I think that Tone has grown used to the fact that his FUD is well received by many who are invested in Bitcoin and fearful of competition. With all of Bitcoin's failings and with the technology surging ahead with projects like Steem, who can blame them? (I hope all of crypto does well, including Bitcoin because each genuine project benefits the other.) The answer is not to allow your fears to keep you trapped in an echo chamber, but to galvanise a broader interest in this technology and what it can do. The fact is, Steem and Steemit are reaching way beyond the boundaries of the original crypto crowd where a broader perspective resides. Tone has unfortunately failed to realise that his flawed message will no longer stand up to scrutiny and will rapidly become irrelevant.
