Hello, nature-loving friends! It is a pleasure to greet you and wish you an excellent, blessed weekend. This is my entry for the My Hobbies in Nature contest. My hobbies include hiking, admiring the scenery, and taking photographs. I am not a professional photographer, but it is a hobby I truly enjoy. Since I was little—whenever we visited the countryside—I loved exploring and wandering through those spaces. Something that always caught my attention was the varying shades of green in the plants. I used to ask why some colors were more intense than others. The answer was usually that every plant grows at its own pace and the Creator gave each one its own specific shade of green. Just as you observe zebras, bees, and other animals—none of which share the exact same pattern—the same applies to plants. You will never see the exact same shade of green repeated, even among mango trees or any other fruit-bearing plants; many factors, such as sunlight exposure and humidity, determine that beautiful green hue.
This answer fueled my curiosity and led me to examine the plants in detail, and indeed, the shades of green were completely different. I also loved observing the shapes of the leaves: some were smooth, others ribbed or with zigzag edges, and some had spots or other unique features. Visiting the countryside was a beautiful adventure where I could discover species, admire the landscape, enjoy myself, and breathe fresh air. Listening to the relaxing sound of river water flowing over the rocks, and watching the fish, the flowers, and the water droplets on them—that was what I loved most about those morning visits. Birdsong served as our alarm clock; I would always try to locate the source of the sound, though I rarely actually saw the birds, as I didn't want to make noise and scare them away. Among the birds I did manage to spot were the gorrito (a type of small finch), the canary, and a beautiful bird with white, red, and black plumage whose name I never learned—though, honestly, its song was lovely and very relaxing.
Another moment I enjoy in the countryside is the rain; I love the scent of damp earth, and it also brings back many memories of my childhood. In short, I enjoy natural spaces and environments—they serve as a special form of therapy for relieving stress and recharging my energy.
