Images that represent me: mountains, rivers, and natural environments (Eng - Esp)
Greetings, #Hive friend and @holos-lotus community member. I hope you have an excellent and blessed week with your loved ones. This is my entry for the initiative by our friend
@emiliorios: Share Your Representative Object. The post caught my eye; while checking my phone this afternoon, I found several photos perfect for this activity, which involves choosing an image, object, or special spot that defines us. I found it to be a very interesting exercise, as I believe each of us has that specific corner, landscape, or image that defines who we are. In my case—as I’ve mentioned before—I grew up in a town surrounded by beautiful mountains and the majestic Orinoco River.
The activities and games I shared with my sisters were always tied to nature: playing in the rain, running, swinging from trees, and exploring the area near the river, among other things. Consequently, the images that define me are closely linked to nature. I truly love natural landscapes; while I’m no photography expert, I try to take plenty of photos whenever I visit places like the countryside, mountains, beaches, rivers, or hiking trails. These are also the perfect spots for me to admire incredible scenery and enjoy connecting with the natural world. Although we have the ability to store memories and images in our minds, modern technology and today's smartphones make it possible to keep numerous photographs of the places we visit.
I remember how, in the past, we had to use those familiar rolls of film—holding 12, 24, or 36 shots—with no way to preview or correct a photo before taking it; you would send the film off to be developed and only then see the results. With today's advancements, you can see how the image will look while you're taking it and adjust the focus accordingly. I believe smartphones have become an essential tool for preserving images of the places we explore and the beautiful memories we create along the way.
Natural landscapes are definitely my favorites; they transport me back to my childhood, when visiting the countryside was an adventure—wandering the trails, seeing the rivers, and taking in the lush vegetation surrounding the area. Nowadays, I still enjoy visiting these places, and I do so with my son—my little adventurer—exploring the various locations we have the chance to visit. On our last trip, we discovered a beautiful rural village in the Libertador municipality of Sucre state. It stands out for its stunning mountains, abundant greenery, streams, and colorful gardens. The temperature is pleasant, making it perfect for morning hikes, a time when you can also see the mist blanketing the mountains.
Beyond mountain landscapes, other settings I truly love and enjoy to the fullest are rivers and beach sunsets; that time of day is a favorite of mine because I love watching the beautiful colors the sky takes on as the sun goes down. The city of Cumaná—known as the "Firstborn of the Americas"—boasts an extensive coastline and incredible beaches that are perfect for watching sunsets, taking walks, enjoying a refreshing swim, and engaging in water sports. I always make time to visit these places; not only are they my favorites, but they also help me relax and release the stress accumulated during the week from my various responsibilities. My little adventurer always comes along on these outings, too, allowing him to take in the beautiful coastal scenery and enjoy a swim in the sea. In short, natural environments—rivers, mountains, the ocean, and more—are what define me, and I enjoy them immensely; every visit to these spaces is a relaxing and delightful experience.
Blessings!
¡Bendiciones!
