Varias cosas me sorprendieron de esta flor, su belleza, colores y el olor. Es conocida como Tagetes erecta, básicamente tagete, en México dicen llamarla cempasúchil, cempoalxóchitl, cempaxóchitl.

La planta es nativa de México y Centroamérica es por esta razón que tenemos el privilegio en Venezuela de conocerla de cerca. Sin embargo, no tiene el mismo significado en nuestro país que en México por ejemplo.
