The weather has been crazier than usual. I've started wearing my warm jacket to deal with the cold.
Funny thing about the weather is that it's quite warm when we're indoors. Our room is quite cozy and the heater does its job.
The shop is pretty warm and I drink a lot of shitty coffee to stay warm. The thing is, I'm worry about the effect that alternating hot and cold could have on my body.
I reckon alternating cold and heat could lead to sore throat or something like that. Anyway, I'll be taking extra care to ensure I don't get sick because of the weather.
The hot and cold
Working at a bet shop means that I get to meet a lot of people. It's a nice way to get used to the city and the people of the city.
Everyday, I learn something new about living in country from customers and my colleagues. I'm also adjusting to the accents and generally hearing what people are saying.
One of the most difficult things with living in England was actually understanding people. You'd think that since I'm a fluent English speaker it'll be easy but it was actually a culture shock for me.
These days, I don't struggle anymore and I've gotten so good at hearing the accent that I even understand Scottish accents. I still struggle with the Irish variants and people say I haven't heard a Merseyside accent too, so I shouldn't get too excited.
