I am currently a member of 19 Discord servers. And that's after a clean-out. Before that, I was a member of 27 Discord servers.
Admittedly, of those Discord servers, I am on four friend-related servers. One for a gaming group, one for a music-related project, and another for drumming and coding.
It seems Discord has replaced Facebook. It's the first place people think of when the thought of an online community pops up. It used to be you created a Facebook group. How times change.
As someone who believes that Discord is a huge evolutionary step above Facebook, it's gotten out of hand now. Just in Hive alone, there are many Discord servers for different communities. Every dApp on Hive has a Discord server (that I am aware of).
The Discord application doesn't handle a log of servers. While you can organise them into folders (and trust me, I have), the notifications can be overwhelming. It can be a full-time job just staying active in Discord communities.
So, for the sake of me and others using Discord, think twice before creating another server. Are you creating something that already exists? Does the world need another Discord server?
