Dear Friends
A student at the Walter Sisulu University in South Africa accidentally received 14 million rand (1.8 million USD ) from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme and has already spent half of the money before the funds were eventually reversed by the bank.
What would you do if you learned that a large sum of money had just been deposited into your back account? Say for example someone had mistakenly transferred 1 million SBD into your wallet. Would you keep the money? or would you rather contact the person and return his SBD?
A radio presenter recently asked his listeners the same question and i was surprised to hear some of the peoples comments. Many callers actually called to say that they would of done the same as the student and either spent all of the money or even transferred it elsewhere and kept all of the money. What are your thoughts around this? Personally i believe that many people work hard for their money and I would try to get in contact with the person and return all of his/her money but then again it may be easy for me to talk now as i am not the one sitting with the actual money in my wallet. Please leave comment as it would be very interesting to see what are peoples views surrounding this topic.
