It's been a long day already. I'm debating whether to go to a concert or just call it a day and chill out. Getting up at 6am on a Saturday isn't that bad - if it wasn't for a long and awesome jamsession yesterday, followed by a quick Seitan making session for a friend of mine who was catering at an event today and didn't have the time to make the vegan version. No biggie, it's quick and easy and I have the recipe down. Or at least I hope so.
6am was the time because my father-in-law set that time to leave. We both knew it would be 7.30am if lucky, so I didn't hurry. When I arrived at 7.30am, they were having breakfast, and my FIL smiled apologetically. Nothing he could do against the flock of daughters that always take their time. And his son isn't better, either, maybe even worse. So I sat down at his latest puzzle, a really difficult one, until they were ready. I found 2 pieces that fit. It's a great puzzle, I have to go back when I have time and can concentrate to get the woods together.
Oh, and we didn't go to Guanabana Republic as planned, since nobody wanted to drive 2h there. So we went to Chachimbiro, a beautiful hot spring area. This time, to "La Hacienda". First time for them, for me not - it's quite likely that Lily was conceived there. Ellie knew about that, and amused herself giving me shit about it. Well deserved! Nobody else knew, though, and though we're both fine with it, we didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable.
In the card, I had put on the radio to "Bad Love" by Eric Clapton. Always a great idea, as so many great Rock/Blues songs come out of that. I could save each one as a playlist. As you might've noticed, there were a few Dire Straits songs in the list today. And most of them songs that I didn't really know before. Ellie didn't like it too much, for her it's too close to country music apparently. Not a connection I'd make, but hey. Each by their own. On the way back, we listened to our own playlist again.
I took quite a lot of pictures there. I'm thinking about writing about more for WorldMappin and maybe get others to do so, too. Ecuador is such an amazing country, and yet tourism is stalling due to the negative headlines all the time. Maybe some blogging from experienced migrants might help. We'll see!
