I must say I was hesitant to go out today. Yesterday was rough, and today wasn't that much better. Still much chaos inside, and a that nerve-wrecking sadness. But I had said I would go, and music always helps. That's a fact. So I went, with friends, and I'm glad I did. The music was really good, a lot of great tunes form the 80s, and the band did a great job. Unfortunately, the equipment failed constantly, and only in the end were they able to control it.
Obviously, I wasn't the sunshine of the party, and since I haven't really spoken to anyone but a couple of friends (of which none were there), they were worried. It's interesting though, they asked me if I'm alright, I said no, they wanted to know why, and I said "not now" as I wanted to enjoy the music and get my mind off it. But it seems hard for people to accept that. Just in that moment, when it's loud and crowded and really the worst time, they need to know.
What would the 80s be without German singers creating great songs, and then translating them to English? Luckily, the band didn't try to sing in German. But we were 3 German families, with a total of 4 kids, who obviously are educated in Neue Deutsche Welle, so we ignored the others and chanted the original version among the 7 of us. Especially the (5, 6 and 7 years old) kids were a delight to see jumping up and down and singing their lungs out. That's when I started smiling. I should dedicate next week to NDW. I guess @uwelang would like it, wouldn't you?
And yes, of course they played MJ. And a friend of theirs (well, ours, it's a small town, we're all pals) did an awesome impression of MJs dancing style. That was really amazing to watch. It was noticeable that he had studied the style as it wasn't a choreography, but an impressive improvisation to the song using all of the moves, not only from the song video, but overall.
After that, I walked. Breathing, consciously. Letting all those emotions roam free. It's a beautiful evening, that helps, always. Nobody on the street that I know, even better. I already feel alone, and it's good to be alone in these states. Until I figure myself out again. I wrote a little with Danny, who's in a kind of similar state. He was in the same mood, so we just exchanged a few messages, empathizing, and that was it.
I'm better than before.
