Somehow I realy managed to catapult myself pretty much out of my mental comfort zone last evening, while writing a short story here.
You certainly know that when you see a captivating movie or read a good book, that you are then in a certain way immersed in another world and this then still has an effect afterwards. This feeling can become even more intense when you write a book or a story yourself.
And that's how it was for me yesterday. When the actual story was finished, the twist at the end came to my mind and I wrote it. Then I read through the whole thing again and the worlds and perceptions began to blur.
What is real, what is just imagination? Is there even really a difference, or are we just imagining everything? What is true in this world and what is truly valuable?
In any case, I could not fall asleep very well and the night was rather restless. Something that rarely happens to me, something I'm not used to at all. The story I had written was lingering. I'm a big fan of the theory of self-fulfilling prophecies. So maybe there really was a break in the timeline tonight due to the short story and a copy of myself is traveling alone in another line? Crazy notion, isn't it? But it crossed my mind in the morning and then I noticed that my perception was completely different. I could suddenly appreciate the simplest things from the heart.
Cooking eggs on an electric ceramic hob? So simple! A tulip at the table? So beautiful! Hearing the different sounds of my family and the neighbors because they are there and alive? So good! Although we had very strong squalls of wind today, the sun was shining from a blue sky. So alive! The air was so clear and fresh. A pleasure!
So the whole Sunday, although basically nothing special, became very much a great experience, made out from many small shining puzzle pieces.
At this point I would like to thank especially @galenkp, which I had forgotten to mention yesterday. Thank you for always sending us on a journey with your Weekend Engagements. A journey to see or experience a part of our lives in a new way. Inviting us to think again about sometimes completely banal things. You inspire us to think something different than the usual.
Without you the story "When you have everything but no one is there to share it" would not exist.
One more note: I heard on the news today that the Irish "Bloody Sunday" in 1972 was a January 30. I was not aware of this date when I wrote yesterday, or I would have chosen a different day for my story. Perhaps it was just meant to be. Anyway, that's the way it is now and I hope I haven't offended anyone with it.
GERMAN / DEUTSCH
Etwas, was mir selten passiert, was ich so überhaupt nicht gewohnt bin.
So einfach! Eine Tulpe am Tisch? So schön! So gut! So lebendig!
I Hope you all had also a sublime Sunday and as always, I hope you enjoyed reading :-) Yours B.
"how long must we sing this song? tonight we can be as one" U2 - Bloody Sunday. Unforgettable moment for me, when I first heard this song in a life TV broadcast. My perfect #aliveandthriving song.
