There are several stores of this public library in Graz. The premises near the FH Graz are the closest for me, so I went there to get my membership card.
Es gibt mehrere Zweigstellen dieser öffentlichen Bibliothek in Graz. Die Räumlichkeiten in der Nähe der FH Graz sind für mich am nächsten gelegen, also bin ich dort hin um meinen Mitgliedsausweis zu bekommen.
They have very nice modern designed rooms, everything literally smells like reading and books and great stories. Unfortunately I didn't have much time, but at least two books jumped out at me right away and so I borrowed them right away.
Es sind sehr schöne und moderne Räumlichkeiten, alles riecht förmlich nach Lesen und Büchern und tollen Geschichten. Leider hatte ich nicht viel Zeit, aber immerhin zwei Bücher sind mich gleich angesprungen und so habe ich diese auch gleich ausgeliehen.
Since it makes sense for my health to expand my diet with more good vegetarian recipes, the cookbook "Veggies" by Jamie Oliver immediately caught my eye. There are certainly a few not so boring dishes to re-cook.
Da es für meine Gesundheit gerade Sinn macht meine Ernährung durch weitere gute vegetarische Rezepte zu erweitern ist mir das Kochbuch "Veggies" von Jamie Oliver sofort aufgefallen. Da finden sich bestimmt ein paar nicht so langweilige Gerichte zum Nachkochen.
At the front of the entrance there were a few books and one of them immediately caught my eye: "What has proven itself" by Inge Friedl.
It's about the joy of the simple things in life and there are probably some nice stories told in it. I will report when I have read it, but I think it is a very nice book. Just the kind of read that I'm sure is doing me a lot of good at the moment.
Vorne im Eingang waren ein paar Bücher aufgebaut und eines davon hat mich sofort angelacht: "Was sich bewährt hat" von Inge Friedl
Es geht um die Freude an den einfachen Dingen des Lebens und es sind wohl auch ein paar nette Geschichten darin erzählt. Ich werde berichten wenn ich es gelesen habe, denke aber, dass es ein sehr nettes Buch ist. Genau die Art von Lektüre, die mir zurzeit bestimmt sehr gut tut.
Taking advantage of such book paradises has unfortunately gone a bit out of fashion in recent decades, though it really makes sense when you look at the development of book prices. The value of these two books alone, had I had to buy them, is over 50 EUR! And so I can just borrow them for 4 weeks, that's awesome. What about you? Do you also have a nice public library that you use?
Das Nutzen von solchen Bücherparadiesen ist in den letzten Jahrzehnten leider etwas aus der Mode gekommen, dabei macht es wirklich Sinn, wenn man sich die Entwicklung der Buchpreise ansieht. Alleine der Wert dieser beiden Bücher, hätte ich sie kaufen müssen, liegt über 50 EUR! Und so darf ich sie mir einfach für 4 Wochen ausleihen, das ist doch genial. Wie ist es mit euch? Habt ihr auch eine schöne öffentliche Bibliothek, die ihr nutzt?
I think I will be there very often in the future and also the possibility to borrow digital ebooks and audiobooks is included in the yearly membership. Wonderful for me bookworm ;-) So again many thanks to our dear Reiseamateur :-)
Ich denke ich werde dort in nächster Zeit sehr oft sein und auch die Möglichkeit digitale ebooks und Hörbücher auszuleihen ist in der jährlichen Mitgliedschaft enthalten. Wunderbar für mich Bücherwurm ;-) Also nochmals vielen herzlichen Dank an unseren lieben Reiseamateur :-)
