🖊️ Like I promised I will tell you about my travel experiences starting with this post 📌
Would you like to travel around the world 🌎 without spending so much money for hotels and accommodations and get to know great people? 🛑 Read further to learn about how I and my boyfriend, Chris, travelled to amazing countries, made new friends, built up an international network and always had a place in peoples heart and home.
Some of you might have heard about Couchsurfing.
For those who haven’t:
1️⃣ You can download Couchsurfing as an App.
2️⃣ It works like Airbnb.
3️⃣ Everything is for free.
How to use it:
1️⃣ Create your profile with all information. It’ll be more trustworthy if you tell something about yourself.
2️⃣ Then search for hosts in the city you will travel to.
3️⃣ You’ll get a bunch of people who offer their couch and a place to stay. In exchange they want to get to know you, hangout with you and make new friends. Which is the part I like most on Couchsurfing!
4️⃣ You can filter by recommendations, cleanliness, how many people you are, location and so on.
⚠️⚠️ Couchsurfing is completely free, no service fee or any other costs. Besides, it is a great way to get to know locals from all over the world⚠️⚠️
➡️ Our goals for the world trip was not only to see beautiful places and collecting amazing memories but also to explore different countries and learn about other cultures. And for us the best way to do this was to live and be with locals🤠👳.
We started in Dallas🇺🇸. All we knew about Dallas was that it is located in Texas and that President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed there.
First host👫:
Our first Host in Dallas was a young married couple in our age. He was working in the customer support at Microsoft and she was employed in a company which sells carpets to private jet constructors. They lived with 5 dogs 🐶 which they rescued and made their own chilli sauce out of the most spiciest hybrid chillies 🌶️ which they grew in their backyard. I tasted it and yes, they were spicy as hell🔥! It definitely burnt more than twice.
Staying with them was like staying in a Hotel. They provided us a guest bedroom with en suite bathroom including essentials such as shampoo and conditioner😲 (so I thought). In the evening I took a shower and was happy to pamper my hair with nice shampoo and conditioner.
After conditioning my hair I noticed, that neither the shampoo nor the conditioner had a smell...not even a bit. I was curious what kind of brand they were so I had a look on the bottles and the labels said: “Whole grain dog shampoo and conditioner🐾”.
😂 Haha, I’ve never used shampoo or conditioner for dogs before but my hair was definitely fluffier than before.
We had a blast hanging out with them!
Second host👨🏻💼:
Our second host was a mid thirty, Mexican, single guy and worked as a real estate agent. He loved culture, history, nice decorated rooms, food🍲 and surprises.
On the first evening with him he wanted to show us an Indian temple. Well, I was thinking: Okay then, let's go to see an Indian temple in Dallas🤷. But it was mind blowing When we entered the temple he told us some information about the place and the art inside and then he just walked through the temple towards the backyard. When we opened the door to the yard there was this Indian restaurant right under the stars🌟. The food was delicious and the location couldn’t be more perfect.
On the anniversary of the Kennedy assassination he brought us to the place it happened. Chris and I were thinking about joining one of those sightseeing tour with a guide🚩, little did we know that we already had the best private tour guide we could asked for! Our host knew just everything about the Kennedy assassination and had such a vivid way of explaining everything to us😍...we really felt like we’ve experienced it by ourselves. And guess what, he became one of our best friend!
Thank you for reading💕! I'm so sorry some of my pictures don't really fit to my text 'cause most of them are gone when we've got stolen in Mexico...another story I will tell you about!
