There's four things I really love to do: Gardening and travelling, and travelling and gardening. That's technically only two things I suppose but if I combine the two of them at the same time it makes three and whenever possible during my travels around the world I spend time in gardens so let's meet in the middle and say three things.
Planning trips is quite easy for me as I'm fortunate to have a partner who likes many of the same things I do and wants to go to the same places; additionally, we give each other the space to do things we may like individually, and support it, which has worked out really well because we get to introduce the other to new possibilities and interests. We both love gardening though and it's rare that we'd have time in a destination without visiting a garden.

I've seen gardens across the world from Hyde Park in London, the Boboli Gardens in Florence, Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens in Australia, Bach Thao Park in Hanoi and so many more, countless places really. One of my very favourites is Gardens By the Bay in Singapore though, which is where this photo was taken. I have visited many times and always find something new to see and like and it's also imperative to visit it at different times of the day as it's amazing to see at night all lit up and they have an incredible light show there in the Supertree Grove all set to beautiful music. It's sensational.
The experiences I've had during my travels are all memorable, even when things have gone wrong or not exactly to plan; sometimes it's on those occasions when something interesting or memorable happens. We have been lucky to have done some amazing things together I suppose but looking back on those and the more simple moments like wandering in gardens spending time with nature and our own company I find equal value and sometimes much more value in the natural places, the gardens, than the others.
I'm not exactly sure that two really does equal three, but I know I'll continue to combine travel and gardens together to bring value to my life and that seems good enough; I don't always need entertainment to be provided, nature has her own and it's special indeed.
