It's quite easy to become angry and we've all done it for various reasons including me and it's sometimes even justified and quite appropriate.

I don't like holding onto anger though and I believe it is really important, for the purpose of not allowing it to take a firm hold and for me to be lost in it, to know the specific target of that anger, the person, and also to know the level of anger that is appropriate and relevant. The other two elements are the reason and time for it. Anger isn't a negative emotion, it's a required human trait but using it appropriately is important or it could be misplaced.

Something that makes me feel anger isn't specifically aimed at a single person, or any person at all, it's just a feeling of anger that rises when people around me whom I value and love have their lives inhibited, limited and even taken away through illness or circumstances out of their control. It's a wasted emotion on my part, I know that, but I can't help it when I see a person who deserves better, a better, fuller and more enjoyable life, suffer through illness and have their life so overshadowed that it resembles nothing more than an empty husk.

I don't let the anger or the sadness I feel dominate and define my own life but it's difficult not to allow it make me feel strong emotions. It's on those occasions I work so hard to reign it in and to find something else to focus my energy on and that's often spending time to build memorable moments with those people which is something positive, enjoyable and valuable to them and myself.

I think it's wise to balance out anger, to see the other side of it and seek a path away from it, but that's not always easy.
