did you know that trees share DNA related to ours? DNA sequences can be used to generate phylogenetic trees - diagrams of relatedness among organisms. Excerpt from The Telegraph article: "..Researchers now accept that around one per cent of the human genome could have been transferred from plants and other sources following the significantly larger study. The mechanism by which genes spread is a process known as horizontal gene transfer (HGT), in which bacteria share genetic information. HGT occurs in a number of ways including through the introduction of foreign genetic material and the transfer of DNA between bacteria by a virus. However, the research suggests that this practice was much more widespread than previously thought and may have contributed to the evolution of all animals.."
That's interesting cause I did some Artwork long ago and called it the Tree N.A. series.
