Now A Blooming Amaryllis ..
The last time I posted about this plant of ours, I titled the post "We Inherited An Amaryllis!!!". That was four days ago and a few things have happened since then. The flower buds have opened up and are looking absolutely divine. Not all of the buds have opened yet, but the two or three that are on there way to fully open are a beautiful red color.
A Progression Shot Of The Flower Buds
I took one photo every day since Tuesday of this week
I haven't moved the plant from it's happy little place among the rest of the group. It still appears happy here and is obviously showing me. Once it is finished blooming, maybe it will be shuffled around. These next three photos are from Wednesday through Today.
Some of these shots were taken first thing in the morning.. still a bit dark out, so they look a little muted.
If You Didn't Notice ..
The second flower bloom stalk is also growing at a pretty rapid pace. There has been enough growing over the last few days that I can easily notice it. I put three photos of the progress together for you. I seem to be on a combined photo kick anyway, so why not?! In the first photo, don't confuse the leaf with the bud. The bud is barely noticeable; It's tucked pretty far down in behind that first leaf to the outside. Its nestled between the two leaves.
The plant is not all that tall in comparison to myself.. lol.. So I have been peering down on it over the last few days. I think it looks kind of cool from the top, thus giving me a reason to take a photo from that perspective. As you can see, there are five flower buds in total. The one remains sort of small compared to the others surrounding it. I am not sure it will ever open, but time will tell. Maybe that's the way these things operate.
This is the first one I have owned, so I am still learning. I'll surely know more after this first round of ownership! I will keep you posted on the growth of the second bloom :-) Thanks for tuning in!!
Have A Great Day or Night my fellow Hivesters!!
Thank you for swinging by my blog and checking out the post. Have a great day!

About Me ~ The Artist
My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.
Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.
For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.

Both my dogs are a huge part of my life. I love to photograph them, but also from time to time they inspire something more from me.. creation of art! Another passion. This is Molly, and her little face beckons my artistic hand. This painting is a small watercolor on paper.
