PA474 overhead
Eighteen months or so ago, I moved back to Lincoln from Coningsby. It's made life so much easier. Every time I needed anything or had to go to work it was a case of getting in the car for 40 minutes or so. But that's country living I guess. And I guess that for people living in the States or Australia, where, it seems, a 100 mile trip to a restaurant is classed as a local trip, 40 minutes in a car is nothing.
Low level
The one thing I miss so much though is the sight (and sounds) of the jets and the historic WWII planes. Sometimes waking me up, sometimes keeping me awake, but always a great sight to see. I think I must be a tad out of practice shooting the "Lanc" as these picture, taken during a recent flight by PA474 on its way to an airshow, don't have the propeller blur I like to get when shooting these old warbirds.
It's in the trees
These were taken near RAF Scampton (just north of Lincoln). She came in real low (though not as low as the second picture seems to indicate, that's down to the lens compression from my 400mm). I really must make more of an effrt before the airshow season ends for another year and get out and get some more shots.
