We Have Some Pork And Some Beef. Even Trying Something We Have Never Had Before!
We went to the same store we got the ground beef at, which was Food Depot. They had the pork in so we got some good deals on some pork chops and some boston butts. The pork chops were 1.09 a pound, not a big savings but every little bit helps. The boston butts were 79cents a pound and that was big as they are normally $3.29 a pound. Gonna have some BBQ soon! We also got two good size beef roast for $1.49 a pound, they said they sent too much of these things and after two days on the shelf, it has to be reduced and sold. I am loving that! Gotta love that vacuum sealer!
That is a little over 20 pounds of pork chops. One of the roasts were about 3.5 lbs and the other was about 2 lbs. We did really good this month saving on groceries, we try to wait till Food Depot has this going on and get there early enough to get as much as we can. We have the freezers loaded up again and we are good for a little while now.
We have never tried goat meat so they had some and we got just a little bit of it to see if we like it. Going to use the chucks in a stew and not sure about the steaks, frying them or roasting them or the grill, not sure yet on them. Not sure about this, I have eaten many different types of meat in my lifetime but I never thought about eating goat. I never even heard of eating goat until about two months ago in a YouTube video. I was raised with cattle and pigs on the farm and a big garden and we always had beef and pork. During hunting season we would hunt and eat gator and deer and my 2nd cousins would go up north and hunt elk, caribou, bear, and moose. We are going to try it and see how it goes! Thanks for stopping by our little blog and spending some time with us. Hope everyone has a good night/day, whatever it is in your neck of the woods. ALWAYS FORWARD!
