I was talking to some people about Steemit today. I try to get people to come over and look at it from YouTube and Facebook. They see all the dollar signs at the bottom of the posts as they are looking at trending. You can hear this in their voice.
They ask if I make this much on the platform, I tell them "NO" I am just a little fish in a big ocean. They ask me if they will make this kinda money if they start an account. Well, I tell them you will have to build your account like you did on YouTube and Facebook. You have to put out quality content, not little one-liners or a few sentence posts like Facebook, You will have to build your reputation up and curate and comment on posts and you can be making that kinda money on your posts. It will take some time and lots of work to get there so do not set your goals so high as you get discouraged when they do not get met. Then I hear this in their voice.
They ask how long I have been doing this and I tell them since May 2017, but just took a break for about a month or so and then came and starting posting at least once a day and sometimes twice a day. They look at my wallet and then I hear this in their voice.
It just amazes me that people think they can post like lots of them do on Facebook and make lots of money on Steemit. I am talking about the one-liners or the three sentence posts, I do see that sometimes, there are some high paying posts that are like that but if you look at the followers and the amount of SP in the account it will happen. Why is that? Well, most of the time it is people voting on those posts so maybe they will get a vote from them or get something else from that person. They know that they can get away with posting like that because it is usually a whale account. I just work to build my account and if no one wants to do the work that means there are more followers and more votes for me at some time or another. Have a great night/day everyone.
