If it becomes to burdensome for you, you could always return to the treatment plan you are on now right? Convenience and being able to manage it yourself is a plus.

I hate having to give myself 4 shots a day, and I really hated having to do the blood poke test 3 times a day. I am trying one of the blood glucose monitors that you put in your arm and do not have to keep doing the blood drop pokes, so far (day 4), it seems to be a lot better than the pokes.

It is more expensive, but means less pain. If it causes issues, I can always go back to the three blood pokes a day.
