Sounds like part of your job is going to be responding to "that's not how we did it in my old job" people. It is hard combining and using lots of different techniques to develop your own unique technique. Seems like that is going to be part of your on-boarding effort in getting people to look at and employ various techniques of working together to improve things more rapidly. It is always fun working with diverse people and their ways of doing things, learning from them and teaching to them. Sounds like a good job to me.
