There is a belief that if a magpie chirps near your window then some news awaits you soon.
Several families of magpies have settled near our house, and their chirring does not seem to stop for a minute.
I can’t say that it annoys me no I’m already used to it and don’t even notice when magpies fight with jackdaws or they shout at a cat who wants to climb a tree to where the nest of magpies is hidden.
