One of the pipes in the main aquaponics system burst. Yea freeze!
When I went to my rainwater collection tanks, the check valve on the well pump I have there burst. Yea freeze!
What else could possibly go wrong you ask? Had to call an HVAC guy because the furnace stopped working. He ended up replacing the main control board in the unit. Thankfully it was under warranty, but I'm still going to have to pay for his labor.
Wait, there's more! Got in the truck to go to Lowe's/Depot to get a replacement check valve, and the power steering isn't working. Discovered a huge puddle of power steering fluid on the driveway under the truck. Seems that a seal or something in the rack and pinion unit burst. Oh joy! Thankfully my father-in-law was available to bring by some fluid and help me limp the truck to my mechanic.
What else? Oh yeah, the septic drain field is saturated/frozen and things aren't flushing all that well. It is supposed to be back in the 50's tomorrow so hopefully that problem will self resolve.
Finally, witnessed the hawk that killed two of my chickens last week attack one of my ducks. Thankfully the ducks live in the back yard where the dogs have access through their doggie door, and one of them ran out and rescued the duck. She appears to be doing fine thank goodness.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. Got a 'Dear John' email from YouTube. Apparently my channel no longer meets their minimum standards and will be demonetized. Good thing I started blogging here and DTube is available.
On the bright side, stuff in the greenhouse appears to have weathered the three days of hard freeze temperatures well.
