The lesson from my father's funeral is that you need to be a doer of the word. I don't know anyone who knew the Bible better and did less with it than my father. His life should serve as a warning. He

God was talking to Israel about their escape from Egypt. Jesus told us to carry our crosses and follow him. Almost all of the disciples and apostles died for their faith.

Yes. We need to trust God. Even when we don't like what God is allowing in our lives. When we lose our job and the next one isn't as good. Or when your wife dies. Or your child is stillborn. Or when family

The Holy Spirit will change us if we engage in spiritual disciplines over a long period of time. Those disciplines include regular prayer, regular Bible reading, and regular church attendance. We should

You get patience by dealing with difficult circumstances that never seem to end. It should be no surprise that so many pastors have family members with health problems.

Your interpretation of the verse is ridiculous. First, Isaiah 54 talks about a future time for ISRAEL when God will bless and protect them. It should be obvious that weapons work against Christians. Christians

Drinking alcohol isn't sinful. Only drunkenness is sinful. Smoking isn't a good idea but it's hard to consider it sin. It would be better if the woman in the illustration was more modestly dressed but

No, the Apostles Peter and Paul don't bless us. They certainly wouldn't bless the Greek Orthodox Church. They would condemn it for its heresy. The GOC has wandered from the truth even farther than the

This doesn't belong in Christianity. Mary was just a righteous woman. She's not the mother of God. She doesn't rule Jesus or the Apostles. Mary can't help us. SHE'S NOT GOD!!!!!!

There's no such thing as evolution. Life is a trillion times too complicated for things to happen by chance. Even a single celled creature is so complex that mankind can't duplicate it or make something

You need to attend a church. You will never grow spiritually while you remain unchurched. God requires that we worship him. It's really the only proper response to what Jesus did for us on the cross and

Here's a much better passage on the subject: Luke 12:4-5 New International Version (NIV) 4 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will

The Jewish law of the old covenant has passed away. We don't have to follow the 612 or so parts of the Old Testament law. We're under grace and that's beautiful.

No, there's no guarantee of prosperity or safety. People are dying for their faith everyday around the world. Many Christians struggle to eat because they're not allowed to work. Jesus didn't just calm
