This is my entry for #monomad challenge by @monochromes
Hello to all!
Today I will show one of the highest (the 9th) and wonderful mountain of the Earth.
This is Nanga Parba (8126 meters high) from the airplane between Islamad and Skardu (Pakistan).
It has one of the most tallest wall in the world with its 4,600 meters of Rupal Face, as you can see from this image taken by airplane window:
The famous climber Reinhold Messner lost his brother Guenther on this mountain in 1970 (an avalanche).
The name means 'naked mountain', and also 'huge mountain' and 'killer mountain', because of is one of the most dangerous mountain to climb: one people of six is death percentage.
It is placed in Gilgit-Baltistan region, between Himalaya region and Karakorum region.
Here the summit approcching...
... in all its magic atmosphere, belonging to another planet!
I had the luck to be under it in july 2005, at Fairy Meadows, where you can see the other face (Rakhiot) in all its beauty!
