A few years ago I had a couple of Vietnam vets in my barber shop. They were speaking to each other about their experiences during the war. One of the gentleman acted out how he was standing in the jungle of Vietnam. He indicated the bad guys were over there I was right here and the most beautiful thing I ever saw was the Choppers coming in over the trees and they were shooting at the bad guys. That was the most beautiful thing I ever saw and then I passed out.
They spoke a while longer and then the one gentleman left. I had the other in the chair cutting his hair when I recounted what I heard him say. I said so you were standing there in the jungle and the bad guys were over there and the Choppers came in and we're shooting at the bad guys? He said yes that was the most beautiful thing I ever saw and then I passed out.
Something just didn't add up to me. Myself in the situation just standing there would have a soiled myself and passed out. But these guys were brave men so I just couldn't quite figure it out.
Before that thought had finished going through my head he said Oh! The chopper I had been on was just shot down and I had a huge hole blown in my stomach.
