LA VIDA A TRAVÉS DE SU LENTE // LIFE THROUGH HIS LENS

Her name is Sofia and it's been a while since she looked through my eyes, now it's my turn to look through hers, since she already has her own lens.
Hello to all the beautiful Hive community! Every day delighted with the stories and publications of this platform, how much variety, creativity and above all originality.
It is wonderful to be able to capture our experiences and share them with others. How many miracles, how many fears, how many achievements, how many pleasant moments, how many sadnesses... in short, how much life we read in this great platform.
Today I bring here a beautiful experience, sometimes for me full of a little nostalgia because my little Sofia is not so little anymore.
LOS LIBROS ME ENGAÑARON/THE BOOKS FOOLED ME
My little Sofia ❤️❤️❤️❤️ product of a beautiful miracle that I already told you about in my previous post. She came into our lives one beautiful morning in July, she was born by cesarean section due to my problem to conceive and she is the one who gave me the title of mom.
And the thing is that they are not born with an instruction manual, and particularly Sofia had to be born with one, because it was not easy at all my motherhood in the early days. She put my patience to the test and I must admit that I failed.
She cried a lot! If she cried a lot, she lived to cry. And that scared and frustrated me too much, especially after having spent almost 9 months reading books, magazines, articles and posts about babies and realizing in my reality that "nothing" but "nothing" of what I had read matched what I was living with her.
I can start with the fact that she did not sleep through the night, I would breastfeed her at 10am and while I was changing breasts I would pump her and she would fall asleep after almost 2 hours and what did that mean? Well, it was time for her to eat again and this story repeated itself again at 12am and then at 2:00am and at 4:00am and finally at 6:00am.
He would make me spend entire nights practically sleepless crying every 2 hours. Sometimes she would wake up 15 minutes after falling asleep and cry for no reason, I was scared and thought it was some pain that was bothering her and began to rule out the usual ailments of newborns, but nothing I did worked, she just cried and cried and cried.
I applied with her everything I had been reading during the months of pregnancy, I had an infinity of books and magazines from different authors, but none of them, and I say this without exaggeration, none of them helped me at all. My daughter was definitely not in their classifications.
Sofia also had a very particular behavior that I had not read anywhere so far. Practically every day at 5:00pm she started to cry and there was nothing to stop her, more than once I breastfed her to calm her down but then, I assume it was because she ingested so much milk that she started to vomit and now she had another reason to cry.
It was when I was angry, impotent and with my patience exhausted, one day I took my frustration and I paid for it with all those books and magazines, for me fakes and liars, and I gave them all away! I gave them all away absolutely all.
Today I believe that Sofia's inexplicable cries had to do with my fear, with my nerves as a new mother, because many times when she had one of those crying spells, my mother or my mother-in-law would hold her, sing to her and she, after struggling for a while, would finally fall asleep.
YO ERA SU MUNDO // I WAS HER WORLD
As she grew up little by little, the crying gradually subsided, and by the time she was 3 months old, she no longer had these episodes. As for his poor ability to sleep at night, it got better and better and disappeared completely when he started school at the age of 3 years old.... Yes, 3 years of not being able to sleep through the night.
Then she became my doll along with her sister, whose story I will tell in another post just about her. And yes, it was like playing with dolls, I dressed her beautifully, with many pink and pastel shades that I loved.
I made her many bows of many colors, one for every occasion, I made her every hairstyle I saw on the internet, I learned to make braids, ponytails and bows of all kinds.
She was my world and I was hers, she looked for me and needed me for everything, she wanted to sleep in our bed most nights and she didn't want to go to her room until her little sister was about 2 years old and they moved together to her room. Before that time she slept on a mattress next to our bed, while her sister slept in her crib on the other side.
I loved dressing her, doing her hair, taking her for walks, buying her books, puzzles, coloring and anything that involved spending time with her. I was definitely her world and that made me so happy.
DICEN QUE EL AMOR NO CAMBIA SOLO SE TRANSFORMA // SOME SAY THAT LOVE DOES NOT CHANGE, IT ONLY TRANSFORMS ITSELF.
One day I woke up and she was no longer my little girl, her last word was no longer mine, my truth was no longer necessarily hers, I no longer combed her hair, I could no longer even pick out her clothes, she now had friends to spend time with on the phone.
The pandemic did not allow her to get together with her high school classmates as we used to do in our days. She entered 1st year in September 2019 and in March 2020 they decreed quarantine in our country.
However the phone helped her to relate in one way or another with her friends, she made groups in the networks with her classmates and even with kids from other schools who were friends of her friends.
It was really a very difficult two years full of confinement in her adolescence. But thank God, this year she has already started attending classes and is once again physically sharing with her classmates. She can now go to some of her friends' houses, go to the mall with them to eat a delicious popsicle while they talk and laugh for no reason in the long aisles full of stores or simply go to the movies to see a new movie.
EL MUNDO BAJO SU LENTE // THE WORLD UNDER THE LENS
At this point I started to miss my little girl, that little girl who needed me, that little girl who used to see her world through mine, I miss that now I am no longer her center... it is not easy to recognize that she is starting to see the outside through her own eyes and that I am not as indispensable as I used to be.
I used to teach her everything, I taught her colors, I taught her how to read, I taught her the world ...today she teaches me how to make a story on Instagram, how to tick tick tick, how to set up my phone, how to wear my hair to work.
Yesterday I used to buy her stories, today she chooses the books she wants to read, the perfume she wants to wear and it turns out that pink is no longer her favorite color. Yesterday she would go out with us and we would show her the landscape, we would show her the direction to look in, today her camera takes pictures of what she now wants to see.
Today I look at her pictures to know how she perceives the outdoors, to know what she likes about it, what she is passionate about: I can see for example that she enjoys and captures the magic of a rainy day.
Wattpad became her ally, and now she searches the internet or the bookstore for stories full of young love, full of fantastic stories where her characters travel through time, others full of doom like William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, other sad stories with unexpected endings.
But she also still carries something of me when she agreed to read a classic of my time that I had kept in my library since high school days. Seeing her with my book in her hands makes me feel close to her.
Before I used to give her her food... today she loves cooking and she even does it better than me, she shares with us her cookies, brownies, cakes, her pasta sauces better than grandma's, nutritious breakfasts with oatmeal and zucchini.
Now I ask her for the recipes and although I make them to the letter they are not the same, she has seasoning in her fingers and spice in her hands. She has secret ingredients that give an impressive taste to much of what she cooks and although she reveals her secrets to me, they are never the same.
Something interesting is that she likes to be alone while she cooks and she must also be in a good mood; I remember that once I forced her to make some ponqués ... and they were the worst ponqués I have ever made and I have ever tasted, and this in spite of having used all the ingredients and the corresponding quantities. There I realized that her mood influences the results of her creations, which means she has some magic for this.
She loves to mix ingredients, to feel new flavors, to experiment with textures. Sometimes with just a few ingredients she makes versatile and exquisite dishes.
She loves landscapes, captures the beauty in each one of them, either while traveling by car or while enjoying a day at the beach. He can take a nice picture of a trivial place like the front of our house, the fruit section of a supermarket or that of a soft glass of a summer red shared on a family afternoon.
Today I am beginning to accept that she is growing and I cannot deny that I miss her smallness too much... but love does not change, it only transforms and now a new stage in our lives begins, she is growing and I am giving her space... I think it is my turn to grow as well.
