Raksha-Bandhan is indian cultural and traditional festival where the sister ties a sacred thread (rakhi) on the wrist of her brother and worships him.
In return the brother is bound by the sacred thread (rakhi) to help, support and protect her sister in times of her hardship.
Raksha-Bandhan is celebrated every year in the month of August on full-moon day that's why it is also called as Rakhi-pournima.
