Dreem. Life. Simplicity. Comfort. A place to be. I have always wanted that space. A space where humans aren't welcome in my world. I grew up wanting that. I just want peace, quietness, and most especially, nature. That has been my dream space since I knew what it meant to speak.
And, those close to me will surely agree to the fact that I love my space. I am the kind that just loves being alone. It gives me enough room to do so much for myself and saves me lots of headaches from people.
I am the type that being at home and not being at home is counted as me not being around and up till now, I am still like that. However, some things changed, and that is about letting people in, but not just any sort of person. Someone whose space aligns with mine and things have been right after that. I could dreem more, and speak about my dreem space knowing it'll be achieved one day.
I don't need the biggest fund to build my dreem space. All I need is nature. A place far from the bustling noise of the city. A place where the sounds that are needed to fill my ears are chirping birds, insects, and yes... fireflies. Seeing them, standing in their midst at night or just by watching them go by as I look out my window.
I want that. That space comes to life. The space where the waterfall is located isn't far from where I stay. A place to hike in and lots more. That dreem space where the land is green and the trees are alive. Not the talking tree, but where deforestation doesn't exist. Instead, afforestation rules. The breath, the space. The life.
A space where I can wake up in and when I walk out of the small cottage I live in, it will lead me right towards the misty air with the sea in my view to start the day.
It doesn't cost much. Peace of mind and quietness don't cost a fortune of funds. And I just want that to be my space.
Although, being a Nigerian, this dream may seem far-fetched. A fallacy. And this is because creating that dreem space isn't safe here seeing how being secured is not one of the major challenges the government sees while they enjoy their multiple well funded lifestyle.
However, I won't let my country determine my dreem space as that won't let me grow. Growth is a vital part of human existence, which I need both physically and emotionally. I want to be there someday, and I hope it happens soon because it'll change so much for me.
Having to own such a place in the nearest future is an exhilarating experience I will never want to miss. Therefore, I am working towards it, and I know I will achieve this... and unlike the thought I had while growing up, I won't be alone this time around. And that thought alone makes me look toward the future with the last string of words I have always held on.... "Hope".
This is my response to Dreemport challenge "Dreem Space" and also the Minimalist Thursday prompt.
Still yours truly,
