I was browsing X late night and came across what I thought was a joke at first.

馃嚜馃嚭 European Union urges citizens to prepare emergency survival kits with enough supplies to last 72 hours.

Why?

Well, there's lots of opinions surrounding this.

As Europe faces increasingly frequent and complex crises, the European Commission is stepping up efforts to strengthen preparedness across the EU. From helping citizens protect themselves during emergencies to ensuring that national civil protection systems can keep operating when disaster strikes, the EU is delivering concrete measures to make Europe more resilient. - source

In case you haven't heard, it would interest you to know that Europe is currently under cyber attacks.

In dozens of supermarkets across several European countries, a huge amount of food has been dumped after refrigerators and freezers were targeted in a cyber-attack.

Now beyond this, there's also the threat of a war as reports suggest a nuclear weapon may be used on Iran. Tucker Carlson wrote extensively on X about Trump considering this.

Some say it's just aimed towards the elections.

Whatever the case may be, we cannot ignore just how delicate a time we're in.

Governance, AI, Money, War, there's a lot of moving parts, intense across multiple economies.

Anything can happen at any time. We are more likely to experience crisis here.

It is troubling, I must say, since sincerely, when you think about it, the people responsible for any of it can just choose to handle everything differently, but there's a motivation that always needs to be satisfied, so we can only always ever expect the worst outcomes, it's the most entertaining after all, in anticipation and when materialized.
