I am Polish and i am undoubtely proud of it. And yet, it does not limit myself in any way. Rather, it is enhancing me, so to say, and allow me to penetrate other spaces and places.
In the photo below, i am wearing kurta and mundu, traditional clothes from Kerala. Every photo tells a story and this one is no exception. It was taken on the occasion of Vishu, festival celebrating new year, as set by Malayalam calendar. Yes, Kerala, as some other states and places in India, do have it own calendar. Beside, clothes were gifted to me by noted Malayalam actor and comedian Aju Varghese. And i was about to greet my Keralite friends by saying traditional Vishu ashamsakal, meaning Vishu greetings. As we all are in era of social media, the photo later went viral on Facebook, Keralites being self-admittedly addicted to social media.
Indentity is strange entity. It comes into being in different, unusual ways. And as such, it is often dispersed and fragmented. And some journeys indeed change one's self for good. And they do so without trivial blabbering about magicality of some places.
