The curve was tried and we saw that it did not work, but linear was also tried and it is conclusive by now that it also does not work, in fact, it's way worse than the curve. The curve that is proposed is so mild from linear I think they stopped calling it a curve, but then again, linear has worked so good why mess with it, right?
