Some people love being punished, they love being assholes and revel in negativity, they don't want to learn, to grow, to better themselves, they only want to reinforce their trauma and blame everyone else, lacking both the self awareness to recognize their demented perspective and the willpower to rise above it, they choose instead to project their psychosis onto the world, its the world and "parents that are proud of hitting their kids" that are responsible, not them, and certainly not children which are perfect, only the grown up children that are now adults that he singles out as evil, stupid or both.
