Hello everyone,I'm @b0s. This is my first time posting in this community (also my first movie review). So if this is your first time seeing my post you'll probably see more of them in the future.
Anyway, back to the main reason for this post. I've got to say, I was a bit skeptical about watching it at first. Mainly because of the graphics (Not really a fan of the whole mixing 2D with 3D) but when I saw it had an imdb rating of 7.7 I decided I'd give it a try. I've got to say it's a really interesting animation.
The story revolves around the Mitchell's. A very weird family. There's Katie Mitchell, the main character. A teenage girl who has a passion for filmmaking, her very awkward brother who likes dinosaurs Aaron, her mum who's basically like every other normal mum (would do anything for her children), and her dad who does not know anything about technology (this guy is literally a living dinosaur). Katie and her dad get into a fight a day before she goes to filmmaking school, so her dad and mum decide to cancel her plane ticket and to take her to school themselves (a last road trip to try and fix the relationship).
Meanwhile, tech entrepreneur Mark Bowman releases a new line of home robots to replace his former AI named PAL.
The road trip turns out to be a very memorable one for the Mitchell's and they find out that being a weird family might not really be a bad thing after all.
I really enjoyed the family dynamic (especially the relationship between the father and the daughter) and they were a lot of funny moments. I liked how they touched the issue of family and technology. They were also a few cringe moments, but that's what you get when you make a cartoon about family.
Whether you are a fan of the sci-fi genre or not, I recommend this animation for you. I think it's one the whole family will enjoy. Go ahead and give it a try if you haven't and if you have I'd like to know your thoughts.
Thank you for taking your time to read this post your support and feedback is greatly appreciated. Have a wonderful day.
