3 years. What can happen in 3 years? A lot of things that is what. Did you know It took just over two years to build the Eiffel Tower? 3 years is enough time to master a trade, Within 3 years the average couple would have at least one child, and within 3 years a teenager can make the leap from boyhood to adulthood. 3 seems like a symbolic number. Stability, strength, and balance can be created in anything you've done for 3 years.
Just 3 days ago, I received a reply from @hivebuzz and that was when I realized it's been 3 years since I created my hive account. 3 years felt shocking, one would think I'd have gotten past getting surprised each time I hit a new year, but that is far from it. Even though Hivebuzz provides accurate data, I still had to check again to be completely sure. And sure enough, it was correct. This should have come then, but I've had a lot to do recently.
I can still remember my first days on the chain like it was yesterday. Roaming all around and exploring, everything seemed like magic to me. That joy and satisfying feeling whenever I got any upvote at all. Exploring the cool dapps and integrations on the chain just to see how they work. Hopping between discord servers and keeping up-to-date with some of the on-chain drama secretly, interacting with new people, learning new things, and so much more.
I've seen a lot of my friends come and go for various reasons and I never thought I'd be able to be consistent on chain for this long, because then writing seemed like a mountain to climb, and each time, it was a hurdle. It is still not so easy at times, but most times it has become a lot easier to do. Now I write better and make fewer errors. It also takes less time to put down my thoughts, so I can say I have improved in that aspect as well.
With 3 years of experience, one would think I know about everything there is to know about the blockchain, but truth be told, that is far from the truth. Hive is a very dynamic chain, and with the number of integrations that go on regularly, the projects, the interactions, the changes, and the growth, it is almost impossible to know every single thing about it. What you know about hive now could be obsolete info in a matter of days and weeks. It's what keeps it interesting for me. And this is why I tell my friends that I am still a newbie.
I have learnt a lot of things from this space, and I have matured both physically, mentally and psychologically. The b0s I knew three years ago (The curious newbie who strolled into @theterminal discord one faithful morning) and the b0s I am now are a lot different. And I have to say it has been a positive growth. At times I look at myself and I'm surprised by the growth.
I am thankful to all my friends and all the helpful and supportive people I have met on the chain (Not tagging cause I don't want to tag spam), you have all had an impact on my life one way or the other. I love you all. I am looking forward to spending another 365 days with all of you. To more growth 🥂.
