Rapa'ie is a traditional musical instrument from Aceh, now its maker is increasingly rare, for making rapa'ie it requires special skills that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Rapai is always present in traditional Acehnese music.
For him, Acehnese musical instruments have their own unique art, and appeal to society in general. Especially if it is seen that musical instruments have their own history in Aceh.
A rapa'ie musical instrument craftsman whose name is 'Muhammad Isa' is 73 years old, still persists in making these musical instruments to fulfill his life needs with his family.
He has been running this rapa'ie business since 1980
To date.
Despite his old age, he still persists with his skills as a craftsman of traditional musical instruments.
For him, being a rapaie craftsman is a way to maintain and care for Aceh's artistic traditions in the midst of globalization,
so as not to become extinct.
