A greeting to all photography lovers. I recently went to Porlamar, this seafaring city is the center of commerce in Margarita Island, Venezuela and therefore is very visited. However there is an emblematic place in it, in the center of Porlamar is the Plaza Bolivar, one of many in the country in honor of the liberator Simon Bolivar our greatest patriotic hero.
Inside this square, always dynamic due to the influx of people, you can see the imposing San Nicolas de Bari Catholic church, an architectural beauty, whenever I see its dome it reminds me of Hindu temples, this temple has a neo-Gothic style, its construction began in 1853 since the original was destroyed during the war. It has two towers of 3 bodies, one is a bell tower and the other a clock, it is very beautiful and striking as you can see it is lined with oak trees that are native to the island, it is a must stop, no matter the religion, just people stop to admire this structure that tells a story like the trees that surround it.
I present several angles of the same, you can observe the movement of people who daily pass through here, some oaks have flourished and ornament this place full of faith, centered in a busy square where gatherings abound, laughter, very close you can see one of the great works of the artist Francisco Narvaez, called "La Ronda" are sculptures of 4 girls dancing to the sound of popular songs. For the moment the fountain was not active but I have seen it working and the effect is very nice, there are always people around who know the history of Porlamar and are willing to tell it with pride.
