Top 200 SPS Stakeholders
I look at this data all the time for multiple reasons:
- To check overall health of the community
- To check where I am with respect to the community
- To check if there is a major movement in the stakeholding pattern
- To check if the top stakeholders are participating in the hive ecosystem
The last bit, has always been sketchy, but it matters not I continue to try and show people the way. The last time I looked into this was during last September. The post is here. Now I have better access to data and can dive into more details.
Below is the basic plot that I think gives a good indication of a players assets along 3 dimensions.
- Total SPS (Staked + Liquid)
- Collection Power (a measure of card holding)
- DEC + DEC-B (a measure of liquid assets ready to purchase additional game assets)
Please note, the DEC doesn't include the DEC staked on Land, nor does it include DEC invested in various liquidity pools. Also, I have excluded sps.dao's assets from this plot.
Lots of people like to call this chart 'constellations', and the common statement is if we are planets, Vugtis is the Sun! Well you be the judge of that! Vugtis does have the highest staked SPS and Card collection, and he is holding nearly 50M DEC liquid, ready to buy in-game assets. I always say this to the team, if an investor wants to buy something we should always have things available to buy, directly on the shelf. So far the team is not successful to deliver on this all the time.
The two other large liquid DEC holders are cryp71x and yabapmatt, 42M and 15M respectively, and then it falls rather quickly.
So the point of the chart above is when it comes to holding of liquid DEC, it is fairly slim pickings! That could be a good thing
- If there are desirable items on the shelf, people will need to buy DEC to buy those items
- Buying DEC is a positive pressure on the DEC Flywheel
What about the Hive Holdings?
This following chart is an interesting one to me. It plots Hive HP along the X-axis vs. Total SPS along the Y-axis. The size of the circle represents a persons hive reputation (the number). I am using this chart as a measure of Splinterlands's players influence on the hive blockchain.
So what is the conclusion? How much influence does the top SPS stakeholders have on the hive blockchain? It is based on their HP. What is the answer? Not much!
But who are the people who does have some influence on the hive blockchain? You should look at both our placement along the X-axis and the size of the circle (which is a measure of how much we post and interact)
Myself, Yabapmatt, Neoxian, Tarazkp, Slobberchops, Lordbutterfly, Jarvie.... that is about it, it is very slim picking.
I say if you like to have a say in the hive governance, get some stake, get at least 100K HP. More the better, otherwise, we don't have a say in the governance of the chain, not by much. That is the truth.
Lately hive has outperformed all splinterlands assets by a factor of 3 to 4 depending on your time frame. If this is not an wake up call for you guys, I don't know what is.
