I need to get my shit together!
Aren't we all? I have been trying to get my shit together since high school, and still can't get it together. It perhaps means I am a total failure, or it perhaps means that 'getting shit together' is a continuous process, and you never get there, but you always make incremental improvements.
Several weeks back a dude named @arahili mentioned about a talk by Kurt Vonnegut called Shape of Stories (link below), where the author explains how all stories can be plotted in an X-Y 2D plane, along B-E horozontal time line axies (Beginning and End) and G-I vertical axis (Good fortune and Ill fortune). I have never even heard of this before and it was honestly a novel concept to me! Many thanks to arahili, I have learned something new.
Implementation
Since I leanred something, I can impliment it onto something else. Kung Fu Panda is one of my favorite movies. The simple wisdom Master Oogway, Shifu and even Po shares in that movie is quite amazing. I apply it on my dairly life. I suddenly thought I can apply Kurt Vonnegut lesson in analyzing people. People are just like stories. Every person has their own story during any given time. So Master Oogway can be the wise old man, who is slowly decaying due to his old age and ready to move on to the 'spirit realm'. Shifu can be the master who is growing in power and ability slowly but steadily, although his rate of growth may have been slowed down a bit. Tigress is mostly cynical with life, so a steady but slow measured recovery is what represents her. While Po, is all over the place, with no calm, searching for the meaning of life and universe.
Today was FOMC rate announcement. I am showing a couple of people what happens into the meeting. The fact that you don't actually see anything, and everything is reflected in price. Typically right at the rate annoucement (0.75% rise this meeting) typically the market shows extreme volatility, and then it slowly begin to damp. It is just like the angular frequecy of a damped harmonic motion in physics.
Funny thing is that dotted line, the VWAP (volume weighted average price) which stays completely flat. It is showing, all the jitter has really no meaning. Market is undecided which way it wants to go.
