That's the kind of life many are living. You're pure this minutes, but next minutes you're defiled. A life of up and down, rise and fall, make and mar, pursue and be pursued. No! That's not the will of God for you.
The will of God for you is that you live a consistent life of purity filled with the hope of eternal glory. "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure."
What do you think David would have done to Bathsheba if she had refused to yield to his lustful passion? Nothing! Yes, I mean nothing! If she had refused, at least that would have helped David come to his sense.
Why would Bathsheba go back to impurity after she was made pure, you may ask? But what about you? Was it not because of fear that made you to sell your birthright?
Say no to him, say no to her. They won't do you anything. Don't be afraid to stand on the Lord's side, for I haven't seen someone on the Lord's side suffering defeat.
Don't be afraid of him/her to refrain from giving you that "carrot" he/she might be offering you. Just offer firstly yourself to God as a living sacrifice and God will give you a living sufficiency.
Can someone say, "No to sin!"
