TEXT: Matthew 7:7-14

7.“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

  1. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?
  2. Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?
  3. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
  4. Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
13.“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
  5. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

A young man went to the bank one day to pay in some money. There was a long queue of those who wanted to withdraw money. After sometime, the bank officials said that they had no more money to pay the customers, but anybody that wanted to deposit money should approach the Counter for immediate attention. The young man was surprised to hear for the first time that a bank did not have money to pay the customers.
But the Bank of Heaven is different. It never goes dry. That is why God is free to challenge us to “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you”- v.7. If your motive is right, and your asking is Biblical, we have an assurance that whatever we ask, we shall receive. But if our motive is wrong, He will not answer us (James 4:3). If you ask in faith, believing, you shall receive what you ask. That is the open cheque God gives His children. Therefore, cash your divine cheque today!

Prayer: Lord, please answer my cry today.
