Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

I am fascinated by mirrors, I find them very mysterious as if they were the door to an unknown place. But mirrors are also something symbolic. Looking at ourselves in others can serve as a mirror to see what is wrong and to change.

They can also still be doors to other planes and see another reality. We can also allude to the fact that looking at ourselves in the mirror is to look at ourselves internally, who we are, where we come from and where we are going. A necessary analysis in life in order to move forward.

Design process

The design was made with 6 images and creating 18 layers in Photoshop.

To create the background I used four of the images. The first one is a desert and on it I placed the haze in two layers with fusions of focal light and soft light.

Then I placed the stormy landscape image in two layers with focal light and darker colour blends and to finish creating the background I wanted to use the moon, which I arranged in two layers with lighten and soft light blends.

I started to work on the mirror image, which I changed its perspective making it more pronounced. I made three layers of mirrors, placed in different positions and scales within the design and also maintaining the perspective between them.

I then selected an eye of the woman and placed it behind each of the mirrors in two layers each, using the fusions of strong light and raster.

Finally I used part of the woman's face to place it on one side of the design, I placed it in two layers with darker and lighter colour fusions.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Me fascinan los espejos, me parecen muy misteriosos como si fueran la puerta a un lugar desconocido. Pero también los espejos son algo simbólico. Mirarnos en los demás puede servirnos de espejo para ver lo que está mal y cambiar.

Igualmente pueden seguir siendo puertas a otros planos y ver otra realidad. También se puede aludir a que mirarnos en el espejo es mirarnos internamente, quienes somos, de donde venimos y hacia donde vamos. Un análisis necesario en la vida para avanzar.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño lo realicé con 6 imágenes y creando 18 capas en Photoshop.

Para crear el ambiente del fondo usé cuatro de las imágenes. La primera es un desierto y sobre ella coloqué la bruma en dos capas con fusiones de luz focal y luz suave.

Luego puse la imagen del paisaje tormentoso en dos capas con fusiones de luz focal y color más oscuro y para terminar de crear el fondo quería usar la luna, la cual la dispuse en dos capas con fusiones de aclarar y luz suave.

Comencé a trabajar la imagen del espejo, la cual cambie su perspectiva haciéndola más pronunciada. Hice tres capas de espejos, colocados en distintas posiciones y escalas dentro del diseño y también manteniendo la perspectiva entre ellos.

Luego seleccioné un ojo de la mujer y lo coloqué detrás de cada uno de los espejos en dos capas cada uno, usando las fusiones de luz fuerte y trama.

Finalmente usé parte del rostro de la mujer para colocarlo a un lado del diseño, lo puse en dos capas con fusiones de color más oscuro y aclarar.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
