As I always say, walks often amaze me because they surprise me with things I've never seen before or didn't expect to find.
On this walk that's exactly what happened to me.
I came to a park, one of my favourites, but there was something I had never noticed before.
As I walked the length of one part of the park, I had always seen a wall and openings in the wall to access other parts of the park.
But I had never seen that, in certain areas, as if hidden, there were stairs.
Stairs leading to where, I wondered.
That question had an easy solution, to go up one of them, the one at one end of the wall.
At that moment I realised how wide the wall was, as in addition to the stairs there were ramps.
Evidently the wall separates different sectors of the park and when I got to the top, having climbed several ramps, I found myself with views of the different sectors.
But not only that, I had views of the skyline and more surprises.
I could see the buildings from the top, the palm trees, the sun's rays between them and how it illuminated them, but looking at them from above, as if I were a bird.
One of the things I liked most about this strange walk on a wall was the play of sun and shadows down there, the little people enjoying the day, the children running around and the pigeons here and there.
I could see areas of absolute shadow and it seemed as if it was night or much later in those areas.
The empty benches, others busy and looking down on the different lives. No one could see me. It was a walk of admiration and reflection.
How many things happen around us that we only see from above, from another view.
On the sides of the wall there are plants that reach all the way up and from below you can't see them, but being there I could observe the quantity of flowers, like a field of flowers in the air, a marvel.
Different types of flowers, different colours and illuminated by the sun at the top.
From time to time I would look back on my long walk, the wall is the length of the park and I would get more spectacular views.
On one side I could see trees, buildings, the lake and the water fountain.
On the other side a dog park and lots of benches to keep the pets company while they play.
One of the most beautiful views, that palm tree waving at me in the distance, next to one of the towers of an old factory.
It is inevitable to look back and see how far I have walked and the landscape I have passed. I bent down to take another perspective and this photograph. The wall was already at the end.
I went down the stairs and a fence was illuminated by the sun that was already coming down as I was. What wonderful colours.
I had walked all that, but from the top, having other views, wonderful views.
A very different and beautiful walk, with a lot of peace, and reflection.
Thank you all very much for joining me on this Wednesday walk, see you next time.
