Although the light show in Malaga is already a tradition and takes place three times a day so that people can enjoy it at three different times according to how many people can attend, there is a key day which is the day it all starts and the first time of the year the button that illuminates the whole city. This year it took place on the 29th of November.
Not only does that button start the great play of lights accompanied by music in the famous Marqu茅s de Larios street, but it also starts the lighting of lights in more than 500 streets of the city, which, by the way, are beautiful in their decorations and lights.
This year I arrived early and still the amount of people on site and all along the Calle Larios was unbelievable. At one end of the street they had set up the stage that would receive this year's button-pushing artist: Diana Navarro.

But previously the stage had a person who played a variety of lively music until the famous event was due to start. It was scheduled for 6:30 pm, it was already dark and everyone was waiting.
Shortly after we were waiting, Diana Navarro appeared on stage, dressed in red, with a red cape, she was really beautiful. I didn't know her until that moment. The presenter of the event also appeared and a few words were said.
My idea was not to take photographs, but to show on video what I experienced that day, as if you could see and hear it through me. That's why I decided to film as much of the event as I could, but not so much of the show itself, but of everything before, the opening, which is so special.
As I said there were a lot of people and most of them were doing the same as me, filming, so you will see a lot of phones and many times I have been pushed because people were coming and going and there was almost no space.
On stage a few words were said about the tragedy in Valencia, and one of the songs Diana sang was dedicated to all the deceased and their families, contemplating the whole tragedy that had happened. It was a very emotional moment, because the whole of Spain is shocked by what has happened.
The second song that could be heard was a song that Diana composed on the occasion of the 2020 pandemic in the form of a Christmas carol.
Diana also said some emotional words about these dates, about Valencia and what Malaga meant to her.

Una tras otra se suced铆an las melod铆as y se notaba la alegr铆a de la gente.
The introduction was followed by the countdown to the moment when the button was pressed and the lights were switched on, not only for the show but also for all the lights that illuminate the streets of the city.
The decoration of Calle Larios has been maintained for several years now as it has been awarded as the best light show and it is truly magical and beautiful.
It is a very exciting event where all the people know the songs, the carols and as the lights dance to the music people sing and dance.
One after the other the melodies followed one after the other and you could feel the joy of the people. The carols were also mostly repeated from last year and are now a tradition in the city.

The movement of the lights, the synchronicity, is something that amazes me, something majestic, no matter how many times I see it, one is ecstatic admiring so much work and beauty.
It is a spectacle worth seeing and enjoying, especially for children, although I think adults are the biggest fans of this event. It takes place, as I mentioned, at three different times: 18:30 hs., 20 hs. and 22 hs. and the place is always full of people waiting for the show to start.
Since I arrived in Malaga it has become a tradition to go to this place and enjoy this wonderful play of lights with music and I enjoy it every time. That's why I bring it with a lot of enthusiasm.
Thank you all very much for watching and reading this far, I send you all a big hello. See you soon.
