When I moved from Argentina to Spain, I brought my babies, three kittens, although one of them passed away a little over three years ago, I never forget her.
The other two are called Catalina, who is black, and Tony, who is grey. They are both 11 years old.
Tony needs to go out, he loves walks. Catalina is more nervous and is more at ease in the flat.
But Tony likes to walk outdoors, so several times a week I take him out on his leash. I carry him on my shoulder until I get to a park, the one with the least traffic and the least dogs. I look for times when there are fewer people passing by so that he doesn't get scared.
In summer I take him out in the evening and when autumn starts after midday, at times when people are having lunch.
But contrary to what many people think, that I walk my cat, it is he who walks me, because he tells me where to go, where he wants to sit and what he wants to look at. I just follow him.
This route is relatively new, it wasn't so nice before. On one side there is a high school and part of the university facilities. The latter was created and built in the last year.
The decoration of the place has been reconditioned with natural grass and some artificial grass.
The decorations consist of rocks of different sizes and near them various plants and bushes.
Tony loves to climb up the rocks and look around.
There are trees that are old and have been preserved in the restoration of the promenade. Many of them are eucalyptus. They are quite tall.
I love taking pictures of my kitten, he has very funny poses, he is always looking at everything, the cars, the children passing by, the dogs and the birds.
Next to the school wall there are many climbing plants with beautiful flowers and almost all year round there are different colours. This makes the walk more pleasant.
At times we walk with Tony and at times he takes me to a rock or a bench to rest and look around.
Opposite the road is the fire station of the city, from which trucks with sirens are constantly coming out. Fires are frequent, especially in these times of drought.
But it is also common to see the trucks accompanied by the ambulance, for example, when there are fires in buildings or accidents.
It was also restored a short time ago and they provide the city with a spectacular service.
As we neared the end of the route, Tony took me to some rocks surrounded by small palm trees and I was looking at him because I was looking at him with an amused view.
I was looking at a flock of pigeons that came close to where we were. There were so many of them, it happened all of a sudden and it was wonderful to see them stop in their flight so close and there were so many of them.
Tony was looking at them too much, I decided to put him on my shoulder and set off for home, but not before saying goodbye with a photograph of the last tall palm trees of the walk.
I insist that I don't walk my cat, he walks me and I am grateful to spend such pleasant moments and enjoy myself with him. It does him a lot of good and it does me a lot of good too.
