Some time ago I had been told about this beach, not only they told me about it, but they had sent me pictures of it, and I was fascinated with this place.
I looked on the map to see where it was. I had to take a bus to the last stop and from there walk a good distance along paths that are used for hiking.
The other option is to go by car, but as I didn't have a car, I organised myself to take the first option.
There are several hiking trails to get to the Peñon del Cuervo beach, at different heights, offering different panoramic views, which I thought was great.
I loaded everything I needed in my backpack, I had decided to have lunch there and spend many hours in the solitude of the sea. Something to eat, fruits and water, more comfortable shoes, but on the sand I just needed my feet. I was longing for that contact.
I walked along the path closest to the sea, the lowest one, then on the way back I would take one of the high paths to have other views.
The walk was long, but I didn't get tired, I wanted to get there. On that path there are no more houses or buildings. On one side I had the immense sea and on my other side the mountains, some vegetation and the marked trails.
There was no shade and the sun was strong, I could not take my eyes off the sea, the roar of the waves against the rocks, those sounds are the music of nature. The reflection of the sun on the water, I don't know why I like the sea so much, but I always felt attracted to it. I can't find a more magical place than those where nature gives water.
They say that water is emotions, maybe that's it, being emotional links me to water. It is too strong an attraction.
I walked and walked, I saw different rock formations next to the water, different panoramas were forming as I went along, all of them wonderful.
The colour of the water together with the foam... there are no words... how beautiful I think it is.
In the distance I started to see that big rock in the water, that's why they call that beach Peñon del Cuervo. Little by little I started to get closer and the views became more and more beautiful.
Finally I had it in front of me, I took off my shoes and went towards that big rock where the sea was slowly caressing it.
The smell of the sea was penetrating, I could smell salt, a lot of salt, freshness, peace, soft breeze and the softness of the sand. But that smell brought back memories of when I used to visit several years ago the Nautical Club of the city where I was born in Argentina and of which my grandfather was a life member. That smell took me back, I just had to close my eyes.
I was there next to that big rock, resting on the water and receiving its caresses. The sea was coming and going with gentle waves and drawing shapes in the sand.
I was impressed by this giant formation in front of me, I took several shots of it from different angles and of course of the sea. Between the hollows of the rock the breeze whispered as if bringing words from another world. It was a very special feeling, a great connection. What a beautiful paradise.
I wandered a bit, ate something, hydrated myself, it was hot and the sun was very strong. I was able to find some shade to contemplate these wonderful postcards that this magnificent place gave me.
Breathing in the deep, healing sea air, touching the earth is relaxing and being in the sun is revitalising.
I spent a long time like this and walking around the place, admiring every corner, the few trees and the mountains in contrast to the sea. Everything was perfect and I will be back, that's for sure.
I started my way back, the sun was already lower, I took the intermediate path and again what I saw surprised me, nature is the only one that makes it possible for me to be surprised. I saw different angles of this place and I didn't want to leave.
I came across more rocks and just a bush with flowers in my path. Then that same path went down to join the original, bigger one.
I said goodbye to that beach before entering the city again, taking a picture of the sea greeting me on the rocks.
A fantastic walk, which I enjoyed very much and I got to know a new space in the vast nature.
I leave you a little poem that inspired me to be in that place.
Soft caresses, on the cold sand,
warmth of the sun where it shines,
the shadow of the giant can be seen,
towering over me.
He whispers to me, he speaks to me low,
as if waiting for my praise,
all of them he holds as imposing,
in this surprising world.
As I walk away its blue greets me,
with its roar hitting the rocks,
salty as the tears
that flow from emotion.
I am delighted to have discovered this corner of paradise and to have shared it with all of you.
Best wishes to all of you and see you next time.
Amonet.
