I managed to photograph this caterpillar in the summer. I did not think that I would meet something like this. Of course, I had to observe caterpillars. But they were the usual green color, without such a beautiful coloring.
The pictures were taken late in the morning and you can still see droplets of morning dew on them, which did not have time to dry under the rays of the hot sun. The plant on which I found the caterpillar was a little in the shade.
The caterpillar was slowly climbing up the stem. I do not know where she was going. I finished shooting and walked away. But she clung to the trunk of the plant very tenaciously.
It is amazing that such a clumsy organism will eventually develop into a beautiful butterfly. I would really like to see this particular butterfly. But the probability of such a meeting is reduced to zero.
Insect life is full of dangers. This caterpillar could have been eaten by a bird. The caterpillar could have fallen down and been attacked by ants. But I hope that nothing like this happened to her.
