My project become reality (EN-ES)

Greetings, my dear friends of the needles. I am back here to share my happiness with you.

Finally, I have received the design I ordered to assemble the scarves I have been embroidering all these months for my love project. A project that I decided to do, as I have said before, to honor the memory of my beloved mommy who is now my star in the firmament.

My mother was a needle lover, she loved to sew, knit and embroider. In my mind, I see her sitting in a little room in the house with her basket of threads and fabrics by her side. This is a memory I cherish from my childhood, as she always found the time for her sewing and crafts.

She taught me to embroider. And in this art I found refuge and comfort to carry on without her physical presence. The orphanhood and helplessness that I felt in the first months was relieved in each stitch of my embroidery.

So, for me, the best way to make her memory eternal was to do what she taught me and loved so much.

I decided it would be beautiful to frame the handkerchiefs I embroidered in a detail that simulated embroidery frames.

And here they are in my hands!

Saludos, mis queridos amigos de las agujas. Estoy de vuelta por acá para compartirles mi felicidad.

Finalmente, he recibido el diseño que encargué para montar los pañuelos que he estado bordando todos estos meses para mi proyecto de amor. Un proyecto que decidí hacer, como ya lo he dicho antes, para honrar la memoria de mi mamita adorada que ahora es mi estrella en el firmamento.

Mi madre era una amante de las agujas, le encantaba coser, tejer y bordar. En mi mente, la veo sentada en una salita de la casa con su cesta de hilos y telas al lado. Este es un recuerdo que guardo desde mi infancia, pues ella siempre buscaba el tiempo para sus costuras y manualidades.

Ella me enseñó a bordar. Y en este arte conseguí el refugio y el consuelo para seguir adelante sin su presencia física. La orfandad y el desamparo que sentí en los primeros meses se fue aliviando en cada puntada de mis bordados.

Por esto, para mí, la mejor forma de hacer su recuerdo eterno fue haciendo lo que ella me enseñó y que amaba tanto.

Decidí que sería hermoso enmarcar los pañuelos que bordé en un detalle que simulara los bastidores para bordar.

¡Y aquí los tengo en mis manos!

I'll tell you how I got

One day I went for a walk with my husband and we got to an area called Galerías, here in Bogotá. It is an area dedicated to art and crafts. There, you can get everything you need to make any project. It is a true paradise for all those who love crafts. At some point, when I go to Galerias, I will take pictures to show you.

In these streets of Galerias, you can find many stores that make everything with wood, MDF and other materials. In one of them, I met a very nice and friendly guy, a graphic designer, to whom I told him what I needed. He immediately understood me, gave me the idea of the easel, designed it and went to the machine to make the prototype.

It was perfect, it was what I wanted!

I ordered twenty-four frames with their easels and I am already mounting my embroidered handkerchiefs on their frames.

Les cuento cómo conseguí quien me los hiciera.

Un día me fui a caminar con mi esposo y llegamos hasta una zona que se llama Galerías, aquí en Bogotá. Es un sector dedicado al arte y a las manualidades. Ahí, se puede conseguir todo lo que se necesite para hacer cualquier proyecto. Es un verdadero paraíso para todos los que aman las manualidades. En algún momento, cuando vaya a Galerías, tomaré fotos para mostrárselas.

En estas calles de Galerías, se pueden encontrar muchas tiendas que fabrican de todo con madera, MDF y otros materiales. En una de ellas, me encontré con un muchacho muy amable y simpático, diseñador gráfico, a quien le conté lo que necesitaba. De inmediato, me entendió, me dio la idea del caballete, diseñó y se fue a la máquina para sacar el prototipo.

¡Era perfecto, era lo que yo quería!

Le hice el encargo de veinticuatro bastidores con sus caballetes y ya estoy montando mis pañuelitos bordados en sus bastidores.

I'm just starting to put them together, but I couldn't stop myself and I wanted to show you in this post how I do it. It's not difficult, just a little patience and that's all.

The first thing to do is to put white glue all around the edge of the base where the embroidery goes. Then, all around the contour that completes the frame. We adjust to stretch well and there it is well glued.

Then, to finish, we cut the excess fabric, put more white glue for a better finish.

Apenas, estoy comenzando a armarlos, pero no pude contenerme y quise mostrarles en esta publicación cómo lo hago. No es difícil, sólo un poco de paciencia y listo.

Lo primero es poner pega blanca por todo el borde de la base donde va el bordado. Luego, en todo el contorno que completa el bastidor. Ajustamos para estirar bien y ahí queda bien pegado.

Después, para terminar, cortamos la tela sobrante, ponemos más pega blanca para un mejor acabado.

All that's left is to wait for the glue to dry well and then mount them on the easels.

I loved the result, they look so pretty. I think I am going to buy a thin and delicate ribbon to put a bow on the top and a little card with a nice message. Then, I will pack them to send them to Venezuela for my mom's mass in September, when she celebrates the first year of her physical departure.

Lo que queda es esperar que seque bien la pega y luego montarlos en los caballetes.

Me encantó el resultado, quedan muy bonitos. Creo que voy a comprar una cinta fina y delicada para ponerle un lacito en la parte superior y una tarjetita con un lindo mensaje. Luego los empacaré para enviarlos a Venezuela para la misa de mi mamá en septiembre, cuando cumpla un año de su partida física.

I am happy at heart, I know that my mother likes the way they turned out and, from heaven, she blesses my hands, as she always told me.
