Today I had an enriching and very educational experience with my dear artisan friends. We met at the library to continue a creative process we鈥檝e been working on for several weeks, exploring techniques as beautiful as marbling and linoleum engraving.
After spending time designing and creating the covers for our notebooks, the moment I鈥檇 been looking forward to finally arrived: the binding. Seeing the covers we鈥檇 decorated with our own hands, ready to be turned into notebooks, was very exciting.
The first step was to assemble five sections, each with five sheets. Once they were organized, we began the stitching process. First, we attached the back cover to the first section; then we added the following sections one by one until we reached the last one, which was attached to the front cover. Although the explanation seems simple, I must confess that for me it was quite a challenge.

Hoy tuve una experiencia enriquecedora, y de mucho aprendizaje con mis queridas amigas artesanas. Nos reunimos en la biblioteca para continuar un proceso creativo que venimos desarrollando desde hace varias semanas, explorando t茅cnicas tan hermosas como el marmolado y el grabado sobre lin贸leo.
Despu茅s de dedicar tiempo a dise帽ar y crear las tapas de nuestras libretas, lleg贸 el momento que tanto esperaba: la encuadernaci贸n. Ver las tapas decoradas con nuestras propias manos listas para convertirse en una libreta fue muy emocionante.
El primer paso consisti贸 en armar cinco cuadernillos de cinco hojas cada uno. Una vez organizados, comenzamos el proceso de costura. Primero unimos la tapa posterior con el primer cuadernillo; luego fuimos incorporando los siguientes cuadernillos uno a uno hasta llegar al 煤ltimo, que qued贸 unido a la tapa de la portada. Aunque la explicaci贸n parece sencilla, debo confesar que para m铆 fue todo un reto.
I didn鈥檛 have a circular needle鈥攁 tool that makes this kind of work a lot easier鈥攕o I had to make do with what I had. There were times when I felt like I was moving very slowly, but I decided to take it easy, stitch by stitch, paying close attention to every detail. In the end, patience was my best ally.
When I finished and held the notebook in my hands, I felt a huge sense of satisfaction. Today I came home very happy with my new, handmade notebook. I鈥檓 sure it will be the perfect place to write down my thoughts, reflections, and all those little stories that deserve to be preserved within its pages. 馃摉
No contaba con una aguja circular, una herramienta que facilita bastante este tipo de trabajo, as铆 que tuve que arregl谩rmelas con lo que ten铆a. Hubo momentos en los que sent铆 que avanzaba muy despacio, pero decid铆 tom谩rmelo con calma, puntada a puntada, poniendo mucha atenci贸n en cada detalle. Al final, la paciencia fue mi mejor aliada.
Cuando termin茅 y sostuve la libreta entre mis manos, sent铆 una enorme satisfacci贸n. Hoy regres茅 a casa muy feliz con mi nueva libreta hecha por m铆 misma. Estoy segura de que ser谩 el lugar perfecto para escribir mis pensamientos, reflexiones y todas esas peque帽as historias que merecen quedar guardadas entre sus p谩ginas. 馃摉
