Knitting a new scarf (EN-ES)

Happy needle Monday, my dear friends! I hope you are well, in good health and well being, and that it will be a week of new projects.

Today I want to tell you something that I'm sure many knitters will understand perfectly: is it true that having a new yarn at home is like having an open invitation to never stop knitting? It happens to me all the time, and last week was no exception.

It turns out that, during one of those laps around the yarn store, I came across a ball of yarn that stole my heart. It was a Copito wool, soft and fluffy, in a beautiful ecru tone, very subtle and elegant. As soon as I saw it, I knew I couldn't leave it there and I brought it home with the excitement of someone carrying a hidden treasure in their hands.

As soon as I arrived, the idea came into my head like a radiant light: a long scarf, very warm, one of those that can go around the neck several times and go with everything. So on Saturday I looked for my 4.5 mm needle, perfect for a loose, soft and drapey knit, and I got down to work. I started knitting it in a shopping mall, while waiting for an errand we went to run.

Hoy quiero contarles algo que seguramente muchas y muchos tejedores entenderán perfectamente. ¿Cierto que tener una lana nueva en casa es como tener una invitación abierta a no parar de tejer? A mí me pasa todo el tiempo, y la semana pasada no fue la excepción.

Resulta que, durante una de esas vueltas por la tienda de lanas, me encontré con un ovillo que me robó el corazón. Era una lana de la marca Copito, suave y esponjosa, en un tono crudo precioso, muy sutil y elegante. Apenas la vi, supe que no podía dejarla ahí y me la traje a casa con la emoción de quien lleva un tesoro escondido entre las manos.

Tan pronto llegué, la idea se me vino a la cabeza como una luz radiante: una bufanda larga, bien abrigadora, de esas que pueden dar varias vueltas al cuello y que combinan con todo. Así que el sábado busqué mi aguja de 4.5 mm perfecta para que el tejido quede suelto, suavecito y con buena caída, y me puse manos a la obra. Comencé a tejerla en un centro comercial, mientras esperaba por una diligencia que fuimos a hacer.

I'm knitting the scarf with stockinette stitch, a simple stitch, but very nice, ideal for this kind of projects. The best thing is that the fabric is not stiff, but with that light and quilted texture that I like so much. I know that this way I will be very warm.

Although I would have loved to arrive today with the scarf ready to show you the result, the truth is that it's a big project, because I want it quite wide, so I'm still in the process. But you can already see how beautiful it's getting, and I'm very excited about it.

Estoy tejiendo la bufanda con medias varetas, un punto sencillo, pero muy bonito, ideal para este tipo de proyectos. Lo mejor es que el tejido no queda rígido, sino con esa textura acolchadita y ligera que tanto me gusta. Sé que así me va a abrigar muchísimo.

Aunque me hubiera encantado llegar hoy con la bufanda lista para mostrarles el resultado, la verdad es que es un proyecto grande, porque la quiero bastante ancha, así que aún estoy en pleno proceso. Pero ya se puede ver lo linda que va quedando, y eso me tiene muy emocionada.

I'm sure it will be a scarf that I can wear with any coat or sweater, because that ecru tone goes with everything. Besides, it has that special charm that only handmade pieces can have.

Estoy segura de que será una bufanda que podré usar con cualquier abrigo o suéter, porque ese tono crudo combina con todo. Además, tiene ese encanto especial que solo las piezas hechas a mano pueden tener.
